NICKNAMES: Em, Mers, 'Horse girl' (though this is used to make fun of her)
GROUP: Dreamer
AGE: 17
BIRTHDAY: June 30th
YEAR: 11th
GENDER: Female
PLAY-BY: Evanna LynchEmmer stands at a small 5’2” and weighs around 112 lbs. Doe-eyed, and blond-haired, she gives off an air of childish innocence, though she is anything but. She usually holds herself with a friendly but confident air and only lets this down in front of friends or when she's particularly distressed. She prefers to dress in jeans and tank tops with boots, though since waking up in Haven, she's enjoying the freedom to wear shorts and all those cute dresses she used to wish she could wear on the farm.
Emmer is lean and toned, with plenty of muscling in her legs from farm work and days of riding horseback, both with a saddle and bareback.
Unlike her little country girl demeanor, she wants tattoos and piercings. Despite the fact that she knows she may not see her mother for a long time, her imagined wrath is enough to scare Emmer away from things like that for now. She's slowly crawling towards rebellion against her mother by dying her hair different colors, regardless of the fact that her mother doesnt know about it and probably never will.
Emmer is very light hearted and friendly once you know her, though she is shy to begin with and waits for others to speak to her. She is a true Cancer, and loves to take care of her friends. She gets very anxious in 'small' spaces. She grew up running about several hundred acres of open land owned by her family and by the surrounding neighbors. Being 'trapped' in the mountains does not sit well with her, but she does her best to adjust and make the best of it. She is slow to anger and quick to forgive, never able to hold a grudge longer than a few days.
Likes: Horses, Being outside, Reading, Running, History (especially ancient civilizations)
In Emmer's opinion, there is nothing better than riding out to a nice shady spot and sitting with a good book while her horse grazes nearby. She'd like to get up early and go for a short, brisk run, but more often than not, her unwillingness to get out of bed wins over her want to get up and move around, let alone run, so she's often seen running to school so as not to be late.
Dislikes: Confrontation, Being confined to a small area, Being made fun of, School,
Emmer is more likely to run away from her problems than confront them head on. When pressed to argue or defend herself, she'll freeze up and do her best to get away rather than stand and fight. Recently she's been trying to grow a backbone and it's slowly but surely working.
She's so used to being on open land that being in the mountains is suffocating to her.
The boys in classes always tended to make fun of her, calling her 'hillbilly' and 'horse girl.' This is, in part, the reason she is so quick to back down.
Emmer sees school as a waste of her time and brain. She'd rather sit and read and learn what she deems important, rather than filling her head with useless things like Algebra.
Emmer grew up on a large horse farm in rural Virginia. Before she was taken to Haven, she spent her days helping her father and brother break young horses or galloping around on her favorite gelding, exploring the acres and acres of land owned by her family and their neighbors.
All of her time around young, and occasionally wild, horses has turned her into one tough little cookie when it comes to falls, scrapes, and bruises. She was raised more by her father than her mother and he never tolerated her tears or whimpers. If she fell, she was told to get up and get back in the saddle, or she could go help her mother in the house.
Her lack of deep relationship with her mother, and past experiences with girls in her class, she doesnt particularly like girls and gravitates more towards boys, though she is always open to everyone. Maybe a little too open.
She never paid much attention in school. (and still doesnt) She doesnt find math to be very important past the basics and spends most math classes staring into space, reading, or drawing.
Alternately, she loves English and Reading classes and soaks everything writing and literature like a sponge. This never sat well with her mother, who ran the family finances and believed Em should be the runner of the household later in life, despite Emmer's wishes to spend all her time in the barn with the ranch hands.
Coatl Quetzal
Delusion : Shrine guardian : Coatl
Coatl is the guardian of an elf shrine to some god or another, she doesnt quite know. She is there to protect, not to ask questions. The children from the nearby village come to visit her often, bringing her tasty treats and offerings for the shrine.
Coatl hardly ever strays far from her shrine, usually only leaving the immediate area to lay in a nearby clearing, spreading out the spines on her back to gather sunlight to help her digest food.
She is always wary of those approaching her shrine. Elves usually show the correct respect but humans tend to tear things up. She also finds them to be rather stupid as in her experience they tend to stab you in the eye with a dagger and then run away screaming before they ask questions. She has lost one eye this way.
She can speak but prefers not to as it takes a lot of energy.
As Coatl, Emmer tends to break the usual mold by running all over the place and exploring the forest. This helps with the feelings of being locked in when she is awake in Haven, but also allows her to hunt her own food and find better places to soak more sun up. She never neglects the shrine though and always returns there before waking up.
