For Your Consideration
.It feels like Independence Day
Pawns: Aydan, Fayre
.And I can't break away from this parade
Status: Private
.But there's got to be an opening
Setting: Small clearing off out of the way from the active areas of the park.
.Somewhere here in front of me
Scene: Aydan off alone in a clearing, leaning against a tree smoking
.Through this maze of ugliness and greed
Wispy smoke curled through the air, as if reaching desperately for the sky above before dissipating. A lanky male was resting against an old oak tree, his knees drawn up loosely. Aydan took off away from the headmaster the first chance he got, thoughts racing through his head. His frantic mind grabbed for every idea it could, horrible plan or not, to get home. In frustration, he punched the tree, sharp pain racing through his knuckles and into his arm. The pain stopped his thought process long enough for him to realize he needed to rationalize. So he had sat down against the same oak, pulled out a cigarette and lit his choice toxin.
The cigarette loosely dangled between his index and middle finger, with some blood drying on his knuckles from the rough bark. Dark eyes watched the clouds in the azure sky above with detached interest, as he drew the cancer stick to his mouth. Grasping the cigarette with thin lips, he dragged the poison in slowly. Inhale, hold, exhale. The familiar motion was calming, his muscles relaxing with his breathing. His arm went back to rest on his left knee as he sighed deeply.
He missed home, even though he always had complained about it. His beat up house that leaked when it rain. His worn down bed that creaked whenever he moved. His mother's warm smile and her amazing cooking. Playing with Jadya and Jayden to the park, with their laughter and bright eyes. He missed them terribly. He hoped they were okay without him. His younger siblings were going to have a hard time with him gone. He needed to fix that.
