For Your Consideration
.It's just another war
Pawns: Niten and Qi
.Just another family torn
Status: private, active
.Falling from my faith today
Setting: The Delusion in front of Shinto shrine
.Just a step from the edge
Scene: Niten returning
.Just another day in the world we live
Niten opened his eyes, his back pressed against the shrine wall, his katana propped against his shoulder. He looked up, armor shifting lightly. The sound of footsteps moving toward the offering grate caught his attention. The bell rang, the figure clapped. He sighed and looked out at the road.
The day was dark and dreary, mist covering the ground. If it hadn't been for the thick fog, the samurai knew he would have been able to see his breath. The figure moved back down the long steps and paused as she reached the space Niten sat. Her kimono swept against the stonework softly, dark brown eyes looking at him from beneath long lashes. "Is my body guard ready?"
Niten stood, black armor shifting and clanking as he did so. He slid his sword back into his sash and nodded at the woman. She giggled, careful not to touch the powder-white makeup covering her face. He stood a head taller then her, but only a number of inches with her tall wooden shoes.
She grabbed his arm and held it. He looked down at her, features unmoving. He nodded and began moving forward, walking slowly to make certain she could stay at his side with her shuffling gait. Her hair was done up with lovely chopsticks and dangling bobbles that jingled with each step.
He had been hired to protect the geisha in her journey to and from the temple. But all the man could think of was the girl from before. He hadn't woken beside her, and it made him nervous, edgy. he'd promised to be with her, and now he was no where near where he thought she might be.
But he forced himself to push it from his mind. There was nothing he could do about it and-
"So, how would you like a more permanent position at my side? Hm? I'll be sure you're..." she petted his shoulder affectionately, "well compensated." She smiled seductively.
Niten shook his head. "I have no interest in such propositions." The woman was less than amused, but walked beside him silently as their journey continued.
