AGE: 34
BIRTHDAY: March 19th
OCCUPATION: Researcher
GENDER: Female
PLAY-BY: n/aVee stands at a lean 5'6." She is used to a rigorous day of waking up early, exercising, going to work where she spends all day studying the inner workings of the brain and then more exercising afterwards. When at the office, she wears very formal clothing, even though it can't be seen beneath her lab coat. She believes that her work and her private life should be completely separate. Because of this her coworkers before she came to Haven knew very little about her, other than she was always kind to everyone, no matter how little she seemed to dislike them.
Outside of work, she loved to take long walks through the city and travel. Almost every weekend she was in a different city or country, just walking aimlessly along the streets, sampling the local cuisine, and talking to the people. She thinks nothing of wandering down deserted streets at night, though she has never been given any reason not too either. Her mannerisms are nothing like they are in the office. She moves with a light, free air as opposed to the rather stiff, controlled manner she takes on in the lab, enjoying talking to complete strangers and getting their take on things. She tends to wear very light, loose clothing that allows her movement and comfort, as if she is ready to dance in the middle of street or take a jog down the river front at any moment.
Vee tends to be rather high strung and nervous outside of the lab. To counter this, she exercises first thing in the morning and last thing at night, never drinks energy drinks (though occasionally indulges in mochas and green tea frappucinos: her weaknesses), and meditates in the mornings. Once she's in the lab, she is focused and steady, too busy being fascinated by the complexities of the brain and nervous system to even think about going a million miles an hour. When she is not in the lab, she is constantly on the go. She hates being confined to her apartment, but also hates the wide-openness of the country side. She prefers to tromp about cities, getting lost and finding her way back again. Haven lends little to this side of her personality, so she has moved to the next best thing in her eyes: socializing and wandering through random buildings. She is a bit of a museum junkie but is forced to settle for the library in Haven.
Likes: Museums, moving around, airy clothing, interacting with people
Dislikes: small spaces, tight clothes, mixing business and personal life, rude people
Vee hates feeling confined, whether by rooms or by fabric. Her favorite city to visit was Rome, where centuries of buildings are pushed together, making for interesting architecture, tons of museums, and so many bends and turns in her paths that she had never been able to fully explore the city. Another favorite was Tokyo, which, contrasting to Rome, is ultra modern and constantly changing. She could visit the city a thousands times and it would never be the same twice.
She also hates people who are outwardly rude or cold. She likes to keep the two sides of her life separate, but that does not mean she is cold or distant in the lab. She finds anyone who is exceedingly rude.
Vee had an uneventful childhood. She was an only child, with a mother who stayed at home and took care of the house all day and a father who worked researching diseases. He would often bring her to the labs with him, sparking her love for the laboratory atmosphere and for the human body. She and her father spent much of their time together going to museums, a habit she has carried into her adult life. She knew early on that she wanted to do what her dad did for a living. She wanted to study the human body and she wanted to do something that would be helpful without having to actually talk to patients. It wasn't until the end of high school that she found she loved the complexities of the human brain and decided that she wanted to study it.
When the Haven was opened, she rushed at the chance to study the Dreamers. She wants to help these kids get back to their lives, staying up for days and nights on end, trying to crack the code. She soon found herself Awake in the Delusion as her chimera, Seppa. Now that she has her own chimera and knows how these kids feel, she studies even harder to help them. She would like to teach a class on the Reverie and why they believe the Dreamers have Awakened there, but it is having a hard time going through as those who run the town are unsure if the information should be made public without it being completely certain. Currently, Vee settles for lab work and occasionally lecturing the people who are sent to her, trying to answer their questions as best she can.
Seppa
The Delusion : Ancient Traitor : War Mount
Seppa was once the war mount of an elven warrior. Her kind have been used as mounts for the elves in times of war and in day to day life for centuries in return for food and safety. They have become dependent on the elves to the point that they are slaves, mindless and obedient like dogs. A century before though, the mounts were intelligent. They could speak, both their own language and the language of man. They could sing, their songs more beautiful than any the elves or men could ever perform themselves. The elves feared them for their speed and strength and so they forced them into submission, taking away their thoughts and songs. During this treachery, Seppa and a small band of the mounts were out on a scouting tour. When they returned, they found that the rest of their kind had been turned into useless servants. While the others submitted to their fates, Seppa refused to bend. In her fury, she slayed every man, woman, and child in her way. The elven warriors mounted their new slaves and drove Seppa away. She now wanders the plains of the Fantasy, occasionally going back to the Delusion to check up on her kind and hope that one day they might remember their speech and their songs.
