He grinned when he said he could take it all home with him. He got another slice and began to eat that too. He was starting to get--what was it... full? Was this what full felt like? He got half way through his second slice before he put his fork down to take a break. He blushed a little at the 'good boy' comment. He looked down and smiled softly.
"I would be grateful to learn to make it. Maybe if I ever learn, I can cook something for you? It won't be canned soup or ramen, I promise."
He made the suggestion tentatively. He wanted to repay her for the kindness but he wasn't sure how. The first he had ever learned to pay people back was by doing the same for them. Eye for an eye but in a positive way. He looked back up at her with the small smile. He would have to get her drunk again to ask what was now coming to mind, but that could wait for now. Maybe one day, he wouldn't have to because he would feel comfortable doing it.

Vee smiled and nodded.
"Of course. I'd love to try your cooking once you're confident doing it."
She took another small piece and powered through it. She still didn't feel sick at all. A good sign. If she wasn't as drunk as she'd thought she'd been, maybe she'd sober up in a couple hours. Highly unlikely, but there was always the chance.
She laughed at the ramen and soup comment a little late. Ok maybe she was a little more drunk...
"That's right. No more soup and ramen for you." She smiled. "Hell I'll go shopping with ya if you need someone to tell you no and guide you away if you start with your little habits again."
There was no way in hell she was going to let him go back to that.

Vee set her plate on the table and curled up against Ben's side again, setting her head on his shoulder.
"You're getting free food either way." She giggled. "If I opened a restaurant the only difference would be that I'd have to cook for a bunch of other people too and you'd have to order off a menu instead of getting pick what you want." She smiled softly and reached over, grasping his hand. "Besides, I don't wanna cook for anyone other than you."
Her eyes were beginning to droop as well. A full stomach always made her sleepy and the added comfort of being next to another person wasn't helping either. A random song flickered into her mind and she closed her eyes, a goofy little smile on her lips as she sang the refrain softly. "And iiiif yooou have a minute, why don't we gooo Taaalk about it somewhere only we know? Thiiis could be the end of everythi~ing So why don't we go somewhere only we know?"
Vee laughed and shook her head. "Sorry, love that song." She murmured, looking up at him. "M' tired. Y' too?" She smiled sleepily. "Stay?" She squeezed his hand lightly.

Ben looked down at her, his face only slightly contorted as he tried to figure her out. Vee was so strange, so different. He liked that about her. He didn't want her to change--or be anything like the world of it's normalcy. He gently ran a finger though her hair as she spoke and then sang. He was trying to coax her to sleep--and in return he only made himself more tired.
"I am tired, I'll admit that. Must have been a side effect from your good cooking."
When asked if he would stay, he thought about it. He DID have his sleeping pill but could he really do it? He could always wait for her to fall asleep then run off. No, he couldn't do that. That wouldn't be fair to Vee. He gently nodded his head. He could try it. If he didn't like it, he could just explain to her later that he felt uncomfortable. He was sure she'd understand.

Vee gave him a sleepy grin and kissed the hand she was holding.
"Thank you." She murmured, turning and snuggling against him more, her eyes sliding shut.
"M'glad I met you Ben." she murmured softly, nestling her head in the spot where his neck and shoulder met. Sleep was quickly closing in on her, even though her mind was still whirling and her heart was trying to push out of her chest.
She pressed closer. His heart was beating fast too. She wondered briefly if it meant the same as hers, though she doubted it. The story he'd told her the other night pointed towards him playing for another team. Giving up wasn't one of her strong suits though.
Finally sleep pulled her down, sending her into the Reverie, placing her in an old temple on a rainy night. There would be sleep tonight, but no rest.

Ben held her as she fell asleep somewhat on top of him. He shifted his arm and dropped the pill into his mouth and swallowed it without a chaser. The taste didn't phase him because of years, but he still winced out of habit. He rubbed his forehead as her breathing went rhythmic of those who fall asleep. He himself slowly started to fall asleep, and feel the night come to an end.
He dreamed of the past, but unlike the other times, he didn't feel the pain he felt before. It was still there, but it was weaker--much weaker. Is this what it meant to move on? He preached it but never experienced it himself. He never thought he would have to.
